Schorl is a beautiful crystal that has a very dense, heavy and grounding energy. The colour is black, and like most black crystals it can absorb negative and static energies, which is why it is suitable to use near electrical appliances and computers with the intent to minimise their negative emanations. It is probably the most fitting crystal for this purpose, especially since it is also very hardy and does not get damaged as easily as other crystals. Continue reading

Children and Healing on Shows
I recently attended a show where there were quite a number of complementary therapies stands offering taster sessions to the public. This is a wonderful way of promoting our work since it gives people a chance to try a therapy before committing to a full appointment. All in all it was hugely enjoyable until I noticed that a very young child, that was obviously healthy and well, was receiving a form of energetic ‘healing’ on one of the stands. I know that the child was healthy since it had passed our stand a while before and was full of beans, cheeky and running around. It was unfortunately obvious that the child was not comfortable receiving the therapy and the whole thing came across like some form of abuse and an intrusion to the child’s personal space. It was uncomfortable to watch, to the point that I had to keep myself from intervening, which was unfortunately not an option. I would hasten to say that the therapist obviously meant well, but then they could not see the child’s expression and the parent was looking at another stand. Continue reading
The Soul
Many people ask me what is meant by the Soul. I believe that this concept is extremely personal and that nobody can tell someone else what it actually is. What one can do is share one’s own experience of this part of oneself or, more importantly, how to become aware of it. Much song and dance has been made lately regarding the question of crystal & energy healers misleading the public with certain statements relating to advertising. My personal view on this is that on the one hand, it seems that complementary therapies are targeted by a variety of people who may have a variety of (not always altruistic) motivations; on the other hand some statements that are on the web can indeed be viewed as misleading, and I would like to share some of my thoughts on this matter, since this issue affects all of us. Promoting and Finding Healing Courses on the Internet
When you click on ‘healing courses’ or similar words on Google, there are millions of responses, which is great, but poses the question as to how one goes best about promoting or finding a healing course or organisation. The overload of information can be hugely confusing, especially for prospective students who are newcomers to healing, but also to course providers who may not be all that experienced in communicating on the Internet. Chakras and Crystals
So many people call me and ask about ’chakra balancing’ or which crystals to place on chakras, that I want to write something about it. Chakras are subtle energy centres that are situated along the spine. They could be likened to spinning vortexes. There are seven major ones which all relate to experiences and qualities that form part of our life and ultimately also affect the state of our overall health & well being. The state of these chakras can be normal, spinning too fast or too slow; being blocked or even traumatised. Obviously degrees of imbalance can vary from mild to intense. Upgrading and Evolving
Crystal & Energy Healing are therapies that are sadly enough not always taken seriously. They are often ridiculed or even maligned and one could think that this is because of blinkered views, ignorance or an absence of ‘scientific’ proof etc., although I personally feel that part of such prejudiced views could also exist because our therapy is not always promoted in the best way possible.
