I recently attended a show where there were quite a number of complementary therapies stands offering taster sessions to the public. This is a wonderful way of promoting our work since it gives people a chance to try a therapy before committing to a full appointment. All in all it was hugely enjoyable until I noticed that a very young child, that was obviously healthy and well, was receiving a form of energetic ‘healing’ on one of the stands. I know that the child was healthy since it had passed our stand a while before and was full of beans, cheeky and running around. It was unfortunately obvious that the child was not comfortable receiving the therapy and the whole thing came across like some form of abuse and an intrusion to the child’s personal space. It was uncomfortable to watch, to the point that I had to keep myself from intervening, which was unfortunately not an option. I would hasten to say that the therapist obviously meant well, but then they could not see the child’s expression and the parent was looking at another stand. Continue reading

Healing information for the Public
Unfortunately, over the last few years, there have been a number of issues in the newspapers that have put healing in a distorted light due to instances of healers not behaving appropriately or professionally. I also have had quite a number of calls from people who were not happy with healing sessions, alas at times for good reason. A Question of Integrity
I looked up the meaning of integrity and words such as honesty, truth, honour, veracity, reliability and more of the same came up. As always in development when we peel layer upon layer of the onion of illusion away, qualities come up to be examined again and again and recently for me it was the above mentioned ones that showed me that every person perceives these qualities in a different manner. Healing and Standards
I think that a number of rules and regulations are of course necessary in order to create a decent standard of practice in healing and related therapies. This also goes for crystal and energy healing and the minimum of 2 years training and 180 hours tutor led tuition is an excellent minimum standard, although most practicing healers I know have done far more.
